Distribution. This is a Holarctic species, with records from most of European and other Palaearctic countries as well as USA and Canada (Dahl & Alexander 1976). Some populations are known to be introduced by man to islands on southern hemisphere (Dahl 1970).

Notes. Although it is a widely distributed species, there were no earlier published records for Korea.
