Material examined. INFUECO stations: BC10 0710, 1 specimen, 219 m depth; BC8 0611, 3 specimens, 87 m depth; BC17 0611, 1 specimen, 833 m depth.
Habitat. Species frequent in varied environments with interstitial habits, both on hard and soft substrates, from intertidal to depths of more than 400 m (Campoy 1982; San Martín 2003; Núñez et al. 2005). Common on seaweeds, Posidonia oceanica and Cymodocea nodosa meadows and coraligenous concretions. The updated bathymetric range, based on material herein analysed, extends to 833 m depth.
Distribution. Wide distribution in tropical, temperate, and subtropical waters, although the taxon can be a complex of species (San Martín et al. 2009).
