Material examined. INFUECO stations: BC17 0611, 1 specimen, 833 m depth.

Habitat. Mud to coarse sand, broken shells, inside corals, amongst algae and seagrasses; intertidal and shallow waters (San Martín 2005). The updated bathymetric range extends from shallow depths to 833 m depth.

Distribution. In tropical and temperate waters of the three oceans (Ruíz-Ramírez & Salazar-Vallejo 2001). The species is recorded for the first time in the Canary Islands.
