Material examined. INFUECO stations: BC19 0611, 1 specimen, 1096 m depth.

Habitat. From intertidal and subtidal photophilous algae, Caulerpa beds, Microcosmus blocks at 40 m (Campoy 1982), to sandy substrates at 1096 m depth.

Distribution. Species of uncertain distribution, since it has been confused with Syllis cornuta Rathke, 1843 (San Martín & López 2000). In the Atlantic Ocean, recorded from the Cantabrian Sea to the Canary Islands, and in Gibraltar, also possibly on the coast of Catalonia (Mediterranean Sea) (San Martín 2003). The Indonesian record is yet to be confirmed (Aguado et al. 2008).
