Material examined. INCOECO stations: BC12 0611, 1 specimen, 998 m depth; BC15 0611, 2 specimens, 396 m depth. INFUECO stations: BC17 0611, 1 specimen, 833 depth.

Habitat. Up to 70 m depth, in sandy or muddy sediments, on calcareous substrates. In marine caves of Tenerife previously registered as S. cf bulbosa (Riera et al. 2016) .

Distribution. Arctic Ocean (Ramos et al. 2010), Atlantic Ocean, from the English Channel to the Canary Islands. Mediterranean Sea and Black Sea.
