In Hungary, it has been found in decaying wood in an oak forest (Novák 2012), and in debris of a horse stable (Novák 2018). During the present study, it was found in stable, and under the bark of Populus x canadensis.
Remarks: Allochernes powelli was first recorded from Hungary by Mahnert (1983), from the Bátorliget Swamp. Subsequently, new records have been found from other parts of the country (Novák 2012, 2018).
