Remarks: the sole record of N. validum from Hungary was from Sárvár (Daday 1889a), which was cited in subsequent catalogues and fauna lists regarding the Hungarian pseudoscorpion fauna (Harvey 1991; Harvey 2013; Červená et al. 2020a; WPC 2023), but no specimens have been later reported. According to its labels in the vial, this specimen was later investigated by Volker Mahnert who determined it as N. sylvaticum . After examining the specimen, I can confirm Mahnert’s opinion. Consequently, N. validum is excluded from the species list of Hungary.
