Linzey and Layne, 1974, Am. Mus. Novit., 2532:1-20, studied the morphology of the spermatozoa. Reviewed by Carleton, 1980:118, 125, who considered Habromys a distinct genus. Pine et al., 1979, Mammalia, 43:357, considered Habromys Hooper and Musser, a nomen nudum; Carleton, 1980, may have been first to make Habromys available (RHP).
