Note: Grolle (in Trans. Brit. Bryol. Soc. 5: 544. 1968; Feddes Repert. 87: 208. 1976) treated a Micheli collection in FI as the lectotype but this material was never seen by Linnaeus and is not original material for the name. See comments by Zijlstra (in Taxon 39: 291. 1990) on this name in connection with a proposal to conserve Mannia Opiz.
