Mucor lichenoides Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 1185. 1753, nom. rej.

"Habitat in corticibus Pini." RCN: 8527.

Lectotype ( Jørgensen & al. in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 115: 369, 383. 1994): [icon] " Coralloides fungiforme arboreum nigrum, vix crustosum" in Dillenius, Hist. Musc.: 78, t. 14, f. 3 B. 1741. - Voucher: Herb. Dillenius (OXF) .

Current name: Calicium salicinum Pers. ( Caliciaceae).

Note: Jørgensen & al. (l.c.) found that the lectotype belongs to Calicium salicinum Pers. and so C. lichenoides (L.) Schum, would become the correct name for this taxon. The Linnaean name was successfully proposed for rejection (in Taxon 43: 649. 1994).
