Current name: Malvastrum coromandelianum (L.) Garcke ( Malvaceae).

Note: See discussion by Merrill (in Philipp. J. Sci., C, 7: 240. 1912) of the Clifford and Plukenet entries, who concluded that the name should stay with Malvastrum, though he did not make an explicit typification. The type designated by Borssum Waalkes is illustrated (though the image has been reversed) by Hill (in Rhodora 84: 326, f. 64. 1982).
