Current name: Myrtus communis L. subsp. communis ( Myrtaceae).

Note: McVaugh (in Howard, Fl. Lesser Antilles 5: 515. 1989) indicated 637.1 (LINN) as a possible type, but his “?” makes this statement contrary to Art. 7.11.
