Lectotype (Barneby in Mem. New York Bot. Gard. 65: 772. 1991): [icon] " Mimosa herbacea non spinosa minima, repens" in Sloane, Voy. Jamaica 2: 58, t. 182, f. 7. 1725. - Typotype: Herb. Sloane 6: 49, right specimen (BM-SL) .

Current name: Mimosa viva L. ( Fabaceae: Mimosoideae).

Note: Fawcett & Rendle (Fl. Jamaica 4: 133. 1920) treated the corresponding material in Herb. Sloane (6: 49, BM) as the type, but this was not seen by Linnaeus and is not itself original material for the name.
