Type locality. Heredia, Puerto Viejo, Finca La Selva, Costa Rica.

Bionomics. Larvae have been collected in bamboo (Heinemann & Belkin 1977; Harbach 1995a; Talaga et al. 2015). In southeastern Brazil, one male was collected in the Atlantic Forest at an altitude of 610 m (Stanzani et al. 2023).

Arbovirus infection records. None.

Occurrence in Brazil. State of Espírito Santo (Stanzani et al. 2023).

Occurrence in other countries. Costa Rica, French Guiana, Panamá and Peru (Wilkerson et al. 2021).
