Type locality. Aragua, Ocumare de la Costa, Puerto Ocumare, E of (19PFM3459), near sea level, Venezuela.

Bionomics. The type specimen of Sa. conditus was collected as a larva from a small hole located 0.6 m above ground level in the trunk of a leguminous tree (Moses et al. 2000) together with Culex (Anoedioporpa) conservator Dyar & Knab, 1906b . In the present study, females were frequently collected biting humans at ground level in forest during the daytime (Coleção de Culicidae 2023).

Arbovirus infection records. None.

Occurrence in Brazil. States of Amazonas, Mato Grosso *, Minas Gerais *, Paraná and Rondônia (Moses et al. 2000; Hutchings et al. 2011; Silva et al. 2019).

Neves, M.S.A.S., Silva-do-Nascimento, T.F., Motta, M.A., 08‒13/ XII/2018, progeny brood; 8♂, 2♂ G, 3♀ (vouchers CCULI5029-5030, CCULI5032-5037, CCULI5146-5148, CCULI5161-5162) .

Occurrence in other countries. Venezuela (Wilkerson et al. 2021).
