Genus Larsia Fittkau, 1962

A genus of ~30 named species that occur in all zoogeographical regions except Antarctica. Neubern & Silva (2011) described two new species from the Neotropical region and presented a checklist of the Larsia species of the world. In the Southern Hemisphere the larvae are associated with both lotic and lentic warm waters (Cranston & Epler 2013).
