Limnophyes Eaton, 1875

A genus of>90 named species that occur in all zoogeographical regions except Oceania. Saether (1990a, b) revised the Holarctic, Afrotropical, and Neotropical species of the genus. The larvae are eurytopic, including aquatic, semiterrestrial, and terrestrial habitats (Andersen et al. 2013).
