Genus Callyspongia Duchassaing & Michelotti, 1864

Definition. Callyspongiidae with a regular ectosomal tangential reticulation of primary, secondary and sometimes tertiary spiculo-fibres, ectosomal morphology: one single size or three sizes of rounded to irregular, or triangular to rectangular ectosomal mesh. Spongin abundant. Microscleres toxas may be present.
