Remarks: The majority of the above records are based on that of Marshall (1964, 1967). But there is a remark by Christiansen & Bellinger (1980, p. 660) that “specimens from Quebec recorded by Marshall (1967) as sensibilis are all immature, with 1+1 or 2+2 manubrial setae. They may actually belong to F. alpha ” (now coeruleogrisea). The same is probably true for Alaskan records. The existence of this “European boreomountainous species” (Potapov 2001, p. 226) in the Nearctic needs further confirmation, although its presence in the Atlantic provinces of Canada is plausible.
General distribution: Eastern Nearctic and Western Palaearctic.
