– Proisotoma (Ballistura) ewingi Folsom, 1937: 40
ON James 1933; Christiansen & Bellinger 1980, 1998; Skidmore 1995
Remarks: There are two different descriptions of this species. The first one appeared in James’s paper (1933) with a remark that “Dr. Folsom has described this species from material collected at Vicksburg, Mississippi ”. The second, more complete and formal description was done by Folsom (1937) in his monograph on Nearctic Isotomidae . For a long time the latter was considered as valid, although the former has priority.
General distribution: Nearctic.
