Remarks: Records of this species need modern confirmation. Originally, Neanura quadrioculata was described from Minnesota, and its presence in Canada is probable. However, Hammer’s misidentification of Deutonura frigida (see remarks on that species) raises some doubts about other northern records of S. barberi and Babenko & Fjellberg (2006) treated the above Alaskan record as belonging to D. frigida .
General distribution: Nearctic.
