Remarks: According to Christiansen & Bellinger (1980), Canadian records of C. sigillata by Hammer (1953) may belong to C. pseudarmata or C. brevisensillata . A probable synonymization of C sigillata and C. pseudarmata refers to Babenko et al. (1994). This synonymization obviously needs verification based on modern methods. It can also be supposed that there are two similar species: the European C. sigillata characterized by a specialized life cycle and the presence in subalpine habitats, and the boreal C. pseudarmata being widespread in Eastern Palaearctic and Nearctic.
General distribution: at least Nearctic and Eastern Palaearctic.
