Remarks: The high polymorphism of this widespread “species” is well known, and the existence of a number of cryptic forms is highly probable. Two cryptic genetic lines named as L3 and L4 were detected within this morphological unit in MB by Porco et al. (2014). The former (L3) is likely introduced, as it has also been detected in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand (Porco et al. 2012), and France (Porco et al. 2014).

General distribution: cosmopolitan.
