H. devia Christiansen & Bellinger, 1980

– Hypogastrura (Hypogastrura) devia Christiansen & Bellinger, 1980: 66

AK Christiansen & Bellinger 1980, 1998; Skidmore 1995

Remarks: The original description of this species is based on Weber’s material, previously listed by him and by Yosii (1960) as manubrialis . Specimens of the same collection were studied later by Babenko et al. (1994) who speculated that it may be synonymous with H. assimilis and H. pannosa . Further study is needed to solve this problem. Fjellberg’s record (1985) of H. devia from Barrow Pt. and Prudhoe Bay (Alaska) obviously belongs to a different species (see remarks on H. rangkuli).

General distribution: Nearctic.
