Remarks: Christiansen & Bellinger (1981, p. 1066) believed that the “Nearctic record [of the species is] indeterminable”; later (1998, p. 1227), they mentioned two American localities, i.e. New York (Maynard 1951) and Michigan (R.J. Snider, pers. comm.), which they “tentatively considered… as valid”.

General distribution: Holarctic, with some records from the southern hemisphere.
