D. nigra (MacGillivray, 1896)

– Isotoma nigra MacGillivray, 1896: 56

ON Macnamara 1914; James 1933; Skidmore 1995

Remarks: Christiansen & Bellinger (1980, p. 742) in remarks on D. nigrifrons wrote “a single type specimen of Isotoma nigra MacGillivray …, which we examined, resembled nigrifrons very closely, apparently differing only in the structure of the fourth antennal segment pin seta and the length of the tenent hair. We prefer not to propose this synonymy until the types of nigra can be re-examined… and these differences can be re-evaluated”. Nevertheless, they did not include this species in their key.

General distribution: uncertain due to taxonomic problems.
