Material examined. EAST TIMOR. East of Atauro Island, Outer reef, 08°13’48”S 125°36’56”E, coral reef slope, dead coral rubble, 16 m depth, 20 Sep 2012, coll. A. Murray & P.A. Hutchings, 3 specs. (AM W.53030) .

Habitat. Intertidal to sublittoral, in all types of hard substrates, including algae, biogenic calcareous concretions, rhizomes of Posidonia oceanica, between mussels, etc. (San Martín 2003).

Distribution. Mediterranean Sea, Bermuda, Antilles, Cuba, Brazil, Venezuela, North of the Iberian Peninsula, the Canary Islands, Panamá (Capa et al. 2001; San Martín & Bone 2001; San Martín 2003). First record for East Timor.
