Marmosops neblina Gardner 1990

Marmosops neblina Gardner 1990, in: K. H. Redford and J. F. Eisenberg, eds., Advances in Neotropical Mammalogy, The Sandhill Crane Press, Inc.: 414.

Type Locality: Venezuela, Amazonas, "Camp VII (00°50'40"N, 65°58'10"W), 1800 m, Cerro de la Neblina." .

Vernacular Names: Neblina Slender Opossum.

Distribution: S Venezuela, E Ecuador, E Perú, and W Brazil (Patton et al., 2000).

Discussion: Described as a subspecies of M. impavidus; reviewed by Mustrangi and Patton (1997) and Patton et al. (2000). The spelling neblinae Linares, 1998, is an incorrect subsequent spelling of neblina (Gardner) . One of the several names grouped under M. impavidus may prove to be a senior synonym for neblina .
