Type material: Holotype: male 8.2 mm, No-11A= Spring-brook along river Goudouras ( Gaidouras), Apollona region, Rhodos Island, Greece, 12.03.1973 (leg. J. Stock) ,. Holotype deposited in KCPM .
Remarks: Niphargus pararhodi shares the same type locality with N. rhodi, another known Niphargus from Rhodos Island, in the southerneast part of the Aegean Sea. The description of the species is based on a single male.
Etymology: Named pararhodi because of its similarity with Niphargus rhodi .
