Note: Salvia aegyptiaca L. (1767) is a later homonym of S. aegyptiaca L. (1753), and therefore illegitimate, the latter name also appearing in Syst. Nat., ed. 12, 2: 64 (1767). Salvia spinosa was published as a nomen novum for S. aegyptiaca (1767, non 1753).
