Current name: Solidago bicolor L. ( Asteraceae).

Note: Gray (in Proc. Amer. Acad. Arts 17: 178. 1882), in a study of the Solidago material in the Linnaean herbarium, noted the sheet subsequently numbered 998.8 (LINN), and excluded two others (998.9; 998.10), but did not refer to it as the type.
