Lectotype (Gutermann & al. in Österr . Bot. Zeitschr. 122: 262. 1973): Herb. Linn. No. 120.14 (LINN) .

Current name: Knautia drymeia Heuff. ( Dipsacaceae).

Note: Gutermann & al., in typifying the name, concluded that as their chosen type was identifiable as K. drymeia Heuff. (1856), S. sylvatica should be rejected as a nomen ambiguum. However, no formal proposal for its rejection appears to have been made.
