Eccritotarsus emboabanus Carvalho & Gomes 1971 A:181; Eccritotarsus discipennis Stål, 1860:58 (note, synonymy by Carvalho & Gomes 1971A:181).

Diagnosis. General color pale yellowish; transverse band of corium narrowing and tapering to embolium; male genitalia with a short, straight, pointed projection on the ventral portion of the pygophore (Carvalho 1953A; Carvalho & Gomes 1971A). Male genitalia as figure 11-C.

Plant Associations. Unknown

Distribution. Brazil (Espírito Santo * (Domingos Martins), Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo (Carvalho & Gomes 1971A).

Remarks. Carvalho & Gomes (1971A) referred to one exemplar illustrated in their paper: “ One specimen collected in the Serra dos Orgãos National Park has a rounded black spot and partially black antennae. This specimen illustrated in Carvalho (1953A) as Eccritotarsus discipennis Carvalho nec Stål, 1953, must be considered a variety of Eccritotarsus emboabanus sp. n. var. alpha n. var. It is characterized by having a rounded black spot on the pronotum disc”.
