Genus Knightocoris Carvalho & China

Type species: Knightocoris villosus Distant, 1884: 292 . Original designation.
Diagnosis. Body with short pubescence. Anterior region of the head pointed and produced between antennae; clypeus prominent, labium extending to anterior coxae. Pronotum shining, finely punctate, disc convex, and calli well developed, with large medial depression. Mesoscutum covered by the pronotum posterior margin. Scutellum convex with basal depression. Cuneus narrow as long as wide. Membrane veins form an acute angle. Hind tibia thin, cylindrical, only slightly thickening at the tip. Antennae slender; segment I slightly thicker than II; and segment II thicker than III; and segments III and IV much thinner (Carvalho & China 1951).
Remarks. Knightocoris villosus (Distant 1884), first described in Neofurius, was transferred to Knightocoris by Carvalho (1951). It previously was the only representative of the genus and only known from Panama (Central America).
