Genus Sysinas Distant

Type species: Sysinas linearis Distant 1883:248; Designated by Kirkaldy 1906:146. Sysinas: Ferreira & Henry 2011:29 (diagnosis, key to Minas Gerais spp).

Diagnosis. General color yellow, red, or dark brown with black areas. Shiny, elongate, and parallel-sided body; small species, usually less than 4.5 mm long; head strongly pointed below the base of the antennae. Antennal segments cylindrical; vertex convex, with no carinate on the posterior margin; front striate; eyes sessile; eyes and vertex curved posteriorly; and labium usually short and thick, extending to the anterior coxae.
