Phrynella pulchra Boulenger, 1887

Fig. 6 Malacca’s Narrow-mouthed Frog

Examined specimens.

The only female specimen ever collected (UMTZC1302, SVL = 38 mm) which deposited as voucher without much associated information of habitat or site, but with a date of 2014 from SLF.

Identification.

Morphological characters of the specimens agreed well with the description by Berry (1975). Size (SVL: 38 mm, n = 1 female); small head; snout truncate; tympanum hidden; finger tips depressed and expended into large sub-triangular discs; fingers with distinct subarticular tubercles; toes completely webbed; inner metatarsal tubercles oval-shaped; anal region with large dark spots on that are distinctly separated by white colouration.

Remarks.

The available information of this species is limited to a description and photograph of a preserved specimen; however, it is presumed to be found within SRF.
