Remarks. This species was originally described as Cyclocoelum jaenschi Johnston & Simpson, 1940, but was transferred to Corpopyrum (= Haematotrephus) by Yamaguti (1958). This species has a pretesticular ovary that forms a triangle with the testes (Haematotrephinae), a postpharyngeal genital pore, the vitelline fields are not confluent posteriorly and the testes are diagonal to tandem, placing it in Haematotrephus . Although this species was described as lacking a ventral sucker as an adult, the cercarium is illustrated as having a rudimentary ventral sucker by Johnston & Simpson (1940).
