Type host. Common snipe, Gallinago gallinago (Linnaeus) (Syn. Capella gallinago Linnaeus) ( Charadriiformes: Scolopacidae).
Type locality. Taiwan (formerly Formosa); specific type locality unknown.
Additional host. Terek sandpiper, Xenus cinereus (Güldenstädt) ( Charadriiformes: Scolopacidae)— Uchida et al. (1991).

Remarks. Although originally described as Corpopyrum capellae Yamaguti, 1933, this species was considered to be a synonym of Cyclocoelum (H.) tringae Stossich, 1902 (= Neohaematotrephus tringae [Stossich, 1902] n. comb.) by Dubois (1959). It has a pretesticular ovary that forms a triangle with the diagonal testes (Haematotrephinae), the genital pore is postpharyngeal and the vitelline fields are not confluent posteriorly, placing it in Haematotrephus . No oral or ventral sucker described—Yamaguti (1933).
