Diagnosis. Cyclocoelidae; Hyptiasminae. Body lanceolate to linguiform, sometimes tapered anteriorly. Rudimentary oral sucker absent; rudimentary ventral sucker absent in P. magnus the only species currently assigned to the genus. Genital pore prepharyngeal. Ovary intertesticular nearly in line with the tandem or nearly tandem testes near posterior arch of cyclocoel. Uterine coils typically overreaching ceca laterally, not invading posttesticular space in P. magnus Johnston, 1917, only species in genus. Vitelline fields not confluent posteriorly. Parasites in body cavity, air sacs and lungs of birds.
