Distribution in Iran. Kermanshah (Ghahari and Fischer 2012a as Apanteles ater (Ratzeburg, 1852)) .

Distribution outside Iran. Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Canada, Cape Verde Islands, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, UK, former Yugoslavia (Yu et al. 2012).

Host records. A gregarious parasite of Archips oporana, A. xylosteana, Notocelia uddmanniana, Operophtera brumata and Yponomeuta malinella (Nixon 1965) . Also, Yu et al. (2012) recorded more hosts from Lepidoptera: Acleris fimbriana, Acrobasis pirivorella, Adoxophyes orana, Aleimma loeflingiana, Archips crataegana, A. rosana, Choristoneura murinana, Ch. rosaceana, Cydia pomonella, Dichelia histrionana, Grapholita funebrana, G. janthinana, Hedya nubiferana, Hoshinoa longicelana, Loxostege sticticalis, Lozotaenia forsterana, Olethreutes hercyniana, Pandemis cerasana, P. c or y l an a, P. heparana, Ptycholoma lecheana, Rhopobota naevana and Spilonota ocellana and also Pediobius facialis from Hymenoptera (Eulophidae) .
