Notes: Andrena gallica Schmiedeknecht, 1883 and A. assimilis are treated here as synonyms because of a lack of clarity over the status of taxa allied to A. assimilis across its entire range. The status of A. barnei remains unclear, since it could be either a subspecies or a distinct species. Following Warncke (1967) it is regarded here as a subspecies of A. assimilis, but type revision is necessary to resolve this issue.
