Subspecies: G. h. mariae (Bonhote, 1910) .

Distribution: Status uncertain but apparently rare; confined to arid and semi-arid steppe (Fig. 29).

Previous records: Halebiyye, ar-Rasafah, and 70 km to the northwest of at-Tanaf (Kock 1998).
