Subspecies: G. c. arduus Cheesman & Hinton, 1924 .

Distribution: Status uncertain but apparently rare; confined to arid areas in Al-Badia (Fig. 27).

Previous records: From 30 km to the east of as-Sukhnah (Kock 1998).
