Subspecies: L. e. connori Robinson, 1918, L. e. syriacus Hemprich & Ehrenberg, 1832 .

Distribution: Status uncertain. Probably restricted to semi-arid areas and adjacent dry plains of Al-Badia and in Mesopotamia westwards the coastal region and southwards the country; L. e. syriacus can be found in Mesopotamia, Orontes Basin, and the coastal regions (Fig. 6).
