Subspecies: N. n. lebanoticus Harrison, 1962 .
Distribution: Rare; recorded from the coastal and southwestern region (Fig. 76).
Previous records: Safita and Mount Hermon (Benda et al. 2006).
Remarks: The Levantine N. noctula populations (Syria, Lebanon, Palestine) are traditionally considered as a separate subspecies, N. n. lebanoticus, based on coloration traits and biogeographic grounds (see Benda et al. 2006). However, this affiliation still requires confirmation by a molecular genetic analysis.
