85. Rüppell’s Fox, Vulpes rueppellii (Schinz, 1825)

Subspecies: V. r. sabaea Pocock, 1934 .

Distribution: Uncommon; confined to the deserts, semi-deserts and arid plains (Fig. 92).

Previous records: Talila Reserve (Serra et al. 2007), Palmyra, ar- Rasafah, and Mari (Masseti 2009), dry steppes south of Deir ez-Zor and ar-Raqqa (Aidek 2010; Murdoch & Aidek 2012).

Recent records: Jabal Al-Bishri, Ad-Dukhoul steppes, as-Sarayim, Feidhat Ibn Muwyin’e, and Kabajep (2006– 2012).
