Type Locality: Côte d’Ivoire, Adiopodoume.

Vernacular Names: Wimmer's Shrew.

Distribution: S Côte d’Ivoire.

Conservation: IUCN – Endangered.

Discussion: Has been assigned to nimbae; but see Hutterer (1983 a). Records outside Côte d’Ivoire are based on misidentifcations; specimen recorded from Cameroon and Gabon refer to batesi; see Brosset (1988). Karyotype has 2n = 50, FN = 84 (Meylan and Vogel, 1982).
