Type Locality: Morocco, Agadir Prov., 8 km south Tarfaya, 27°50'N, 12°30'W.

Vernacular Names: Saharan Shrew.

Synonyms: Crocidura agadiri Vesmanis and Vesmanis 1980; Crocidura gouliminensis Vesmanis and Vesmanis 1980; Crocidura tiznitensis Vesmanis and Vesmanis 1980 .

Distribution: Atlantic coast of Sahara; south of Agadir (Morocco) through Western Sahara into Mauritania.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Recorded as whitakeri from Western Sahara by Heim de Balsac (1968 e). Reviewed by Hutterer (1987).
