Label details: ‘N. Zélande (Ex Staudinger)’.

Type locality: ‘ New Zealand, probably in the Northern Island’ (Ancey 1891: 65) .

Current Taxonomy: Treated as a junior synonym of Helix hectori Suter, 1890 by Hedley & Suter (1893: 652), Suter (1894d: 260, 1913b: 691), Climo (1969a: 189) and Powell (1979: 305).
