Notes:—Gates took the first step lectotypification for B. subcordata, indicating the Gardner 338 collection and the holotype in the K herbarium. Three specimens labelled as Gardner 338 are available at K: K 000427261, K 000427262, and K 000427263. Gates made a mark in pen in the herbarium specimen K 000427263, as the holotype and the two others as isotypes, but did not comment on this in the post. So, we designate K 000427263 as the second step lectotypification for B. subcordata . Also, Gates (1982) considered Banisteria subcordata as a synonym of Banisteriopsis adenopoda .
